Available today Path 1 · Clean up the files

Your folder structure stays.
Your file backlog disappears.

Point Filently at the unsorted files. It identifies what each one is, gives it a clean name, and files it into the folder you already have for it.

1

Point Filently at the mess

Pick the folders full of unsorted files, or drop them into the Filently Inbox. Everything stays inside your own Drive.

2

Filently recognises each file

Not only by filename, but by what the document actually is. Client, document type, invoice number, date. In 50+ languages.

3

Renamed and filed

Every file gets a consistent name and lands in the right folder of your existing structure. Nothing is deleted.

Not live yet · soon Path 2 · Deep Clean

When your folder structure is messy too, you need a rebuild.

Deep Clean looks at everything in a folder, recognises how it is already organized, then proposes a cleaner structure and rebuilds it, renaming and refiling every file to match. It ships soon.

01

Scan everything

Filently reviews every folder and every file first, so it recognises your existing logic and works out what actually belongs together.

02

Approve the structure

You get a proposed folder tree built around what is really in your Drive. Take it as is, rename branches, merge or drop what you don't want.

03

Set the naming convention

Filently keeps the convention you already use and creates one where you have none. You see sample names on your real files before anything changes.

04

One pass, done

Approve, and Filently rebuilds the folder: every file renamed, every file moved into the new structure. Nothing is deleted.

Nothing moves until you approve the full preview. You see every change first: the structure, the naming, the sample results, all before Filently touches a single file.

You don't have to wait

Start fresh now: pick one clean folder and Filently files every new document into an organized structure from day one. When Deep Clean arrives, point it at your messy folders and pull everything into the same system.

Two paths. The same guarantees.

Whichever kind of chaos you have, cleaning it up is never a gamble.

Nothing gets deleted. Ever.

Filently only renames and moves, it never removes a file. And every action can be undone, including a whole bulk run, so there is no risk in trying it.

Your files stay in your Drive

Processing happens in Switzerland, with the EU as fallback. No copies are kept, and your data is not used to train AI.

It stays clean afterwards

Cleanup is the start. New files that land later get named and filed the same way, automatically.

FAQ

Google Drive cleanup: your questions answered

How does Filently organize the files I already have?

Move your existing files into the _ Filently Inbox folder in your Drive. Filently scans each file’s actual content, not just the filename, identifies what it is, renames it with a clean consistent name, and files it into the right folder. Start with a small batch, review the results, then move the rest at your own pace.

What happens to my existing folder structure?

You choose. If your Drive folders are already set up the way you like them, Filently keeps them and files into your existing structure. If your structure itself is messy, Filently can already propose a new one today from a 5 to 10 file sample, and you review and confirm before anything changes. Reorganizing your entire existing Drive into that new structure is what Deep Clean adds, coming soon.

Will Filently delete or overwrite my existing files?

Never. Filently only renames and moves files, it never deletes anything. Your original files stay safe in your Google Drive throughout the entire process.

How many files can I organize at once?

There is no technical limit. You just need the document credits to cover the batch. For a larger backlog we recommend an annual plan: all your credits are released at once, so you can work through the pile at whatever pace suits you. You can also top up with extra credits at any time.

What if Filently misfiles something in a large batch?

You are never handed a finished cleanup you did not see coming. Every suggested name and folder is visible before it is applied, high-confidence files can auto-file, and the rest wait for your approval. Start with a small batch, check the results, then move the rest in at your own pace. And if a whole run is not what you wanted, you can undo it: every action, including bulk ones, is reversible. Nothing is ever deleted, so there is no risk in trying.

How long does a full Drive cleanup take?

That depends on the volume. Most cleanups are finished within a few minutes. Tens of thousands of files take longer, but never more than a few hours. It all runs in the background, so you can carry on while it works.

Why does a Google Drive get messy in the first place?

Because filing is a decision, and every download, screenshot and email attachment asks you to make it again. Most people postpone it, the backlog grows, and at some point the folder structure no longer matches how they actually work. Nothing went wrong. It is just what happens when naming and filing stay manual.

What can Filently do today, and what needs Deep Clean?

Today Filently identifies your files by their content and filename, renames them, and files them into folders that already exist in your Drive. That covers a backlog of unsorted files when your folder structure is broadly fine. Redesigning the structure itself and re-sorting your entire Drive into it is Deep Clean, which ships soon.

Should I wait for Deep Clean, and when is it available?

Deep Clean is coming soon, and you do not need to wait for it. Start fresh now: pick one clean folder and let Filently file every new document into an organized structure from day one. When Deep Clean arrives, point it at your messy folders and pull everything into the same system.

Let your Google Drive organize itself.
