Filently is your AI assistant for filing documents in Google Drive.

It recognizes new documents, gives them a fitting name and files them automatically into the right folder of your existing folder structure. You decide how much control you want to keep.

Is your Google Drive already messy and hard to navigate? With Deep Clean, launching soon, you can bring order to your existing files. Deep Clean analyzes your documents and proposes a folder structure that fits. You can refine the proposal in a chat before you approve it. Only then does Filently re-sort your files and rename them where needed.

How can I automatically organize my Google Drive?

You can organize your Google Drive automatically with Filently. Once you connect your Drive, Filently learns your existing folder structure and naming style. Every new document, whether uploaded, forwarded by email or dropped into your Filently inbox folder in Drive, is identified, given a clear name and filed into the right folder, without manual rules or a complicated setup. You decide whether Filently files documents directly or shows you its suggestions for approval first.

How much does Filently cost?

Filently is free for the first 25 documents, with no credit card required. After that, the Personal plan costs about $4 a month billed yearly ($48 a year for 600 documents), or $6 month-to-month. The Professional plan costs $152 a year for 3,000 documents, or $19 month-to-month, and adds Shared Drives and email forwarding. All prices are in USD, excluding VAT. See pricing for details.

Which cloud storage providers does Filently support?

Currently, Filently supports Google Drive with full integration, including Shared Drives (on the Professional plan) and Shared with me folders. How does Filently learn how I file?

Filently starts by looking at your existing folders and the names of the documents in them. It uses this to understand how you organize things and suggests new names and folders in the same style. If you set a fixed filename format in the settings, Filently follows that instead.

Because Filently always works from the current state of your folders, it keeps up as your Drive changes. When you rename files or folders, in Filently or directly in Google Drive, future suggestions follow the new names.

Filently doesn’t turn single corrections into rules. If something should always be done the same way, for example how a client’s name is written, you can add it to your filing instructions in the settings.

What happens if Filently files a document incorrectly?

Filently gives you a complete Activity Timeline where you can trace every change to your documents. You can see when a file was processed, renamed, or moved to a different folder. If something isn’t right, you can undo any individual change with one click, or adjust the file name or location yourself.

What types of documents can Filently process?

Filently supports a wide range of document formats including PDF, Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and templates (DOTX, XLTX, POTX), Rich Text Format (RTF), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), OpenDocument formats (ODT, ODS, ODP), and images (JPG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC). This covers invoices, receipts, contracts, reports, and other business documents. The AI-powered OCR technology can process and understand all these formats, automatically extracting dates, company names, amounts, and other relevant information for intelligent filing. Other file types (such as ZIPs, videos, or audio files) can still be uploaded and organized — Filently files them based on their filename rather than their contents. This works best when filenames are already descriptive, or when paired with a custom instruction like “Move all ZIP files into the Archive folder.” Accuracy is naturally lower than for documents Filently can process directly, but the max file size limits don’t apply to these files — they can be as large as your cloud storage allows.

Is my data secure with Filently?

Your data is secure with Filently. Filently only processes your documents to analyze, rename, and file them in the right folder. Your files stay in your own Google Drive and are never permanently stored on Filently servers. During processing, data is held only temporarily and encrypted, then deleted again.

Document content is processed exclusively in the EU and Switzerland. Filently meets GDPR requirements and relies on transparent data processing with a clear overview of the subprocessors we use. Can I review documents before they're filed?

You can review every document before it’s filed. By default, you review every suggestion yourself: Filently proposes a name and folder, and you approve, edit, or reject the filing. Or turn on automatic filing — documents Filently is confident about are renamed and filed automatically, while anything it’s unsure about still comes to you for review. You can switch between the two modes anytime in your settings.

How accurate is Filently's document recognition?

Filently uses advanced OCR technology combined with state-of-the-art language models to achieve high accuracy in document recognition and categorization. The system typically achieves over 90% accuracy for standard business documents, and it is most accurate when your folder structure is clear and your custom filing instructions cover your recurring cases.

Can Filently organize my existing documents?

Filently can organize your existing documents if your folder structure is broadly fine. It identifies your existing files, renames them, and files them into the folders you already have, so a backlog of unsorted files gets cleaned up too. Redesigning the folder structure itself and re-sorting your entire Drive into it is Deep Clean, which is coming soon.

How quickly are documents processed?

Documents are processed in near real-time using our optimized processing. Most documents are fully processed, renamed, and filed within seconds of upload. You can monitor progress through the Activity Timeline, which shows the current processing status of each document.

Can multiple team members use Filently?

Multiple team members can send documents to Filently, even though each account is currently designed for one user — for example through a shared Google Drive inbox folder or by email forwarding. Advanced team features like individual user accounts, roles, permissions, and separate activity timelines are planned for future versions.

Is there a mobile app for Filently?

There’s currently no native Filently app for iOS or Android. However, Filently is a fully responsive web application and works well in mobile browsers too. A mobile app with expanded features is planned for future versions.

Is Filently the same as Fileo?

Filently is the same product that was called Fileo until January 2026. Same product, same team: Filently GmbH in Switzerland. The old address fileo.io now redirects to filently.com.
